Fishprints 2017
These fish prints were my first exploration into making prints. The idea of fish came from a conversation with a young girl about a fishing trip. She mentioned that her mother had caught a fish which had lots of fish inside it. This sparked off vivid imagery for me and I kept visualising brightly coloured fish swimming around on paper.
Using thin foam to make fish ‘stamps’ from I painted the stamp to get different colour combinations creating the schools of fish one by one. I never gave fish much thought before but now I see what magnificent creatures they are. The prints below are a small selection from a three month period of trialling different combinations.
